Breeding Services
AI insemination services and fresh/chilled breeding livery for mares coming in for insemination to our own stallions and to outside stallions.
We provide a complete service from start to finish with transparent pricing to try and provide a cost-effective and stress-free solution to putting your mare in foal.
As part of our transparent pricing structure we charge £7 per day for mares on breeding livery, capping it at £400 which means that even if it takes 3 months for your mare to get to a positive heartbeat scan it will never cost more than £400. For mares with foal at foot add £2 per day up to £400.
We do not charge in foal fees, insemination fees, grooms fees or collection fees for resident mares, it is just the livery package outlined above making it easier for you to budget your costs.
Mares coming in for breeding to outside stallions must have completed nomination forms before arrival to the stud.
Our veterinary packages are supplied by Gillivervet and are very competitive, 2024 prices were £190 per cycle or £446 for 3 cycles. 2025 prices TBC.
Mares are required to have clear EIA, EVA, CEM and Strangles tests within 14 days of arriving at stud.
Foaling Down
Our massive purpose built 12x22 foaling units will be completed at the end of 2024. All will be fitted with individual CCTV cameras and we also include the use of foaling alarms in our service. We have an experienced foaling team on-site 24/7 during the season.
Mares are required to arrive at least 4 weeks before their due date in order to allow them to settle in and for our team to get to know them and their patterns and vice versa. Monitored daily turnout is provided with overnight stabling and mares are groomed daily.
Mares and foals are then provided a nursery paddock and are paired with another mare and foal of the same age unless requested, to help with socialisation of the foal.
For foals that stay on after foaling we provide basic handling including halter training and picking up feet with routine worming and farriery as required.
If the unthinkable should happen we do retain our own herd of foster mares on-site in case of emergency.
Foaling livery is £20 per day with a foal down fee of £300. Once the foal is at foot livery is £22 per day.
